'Hank' the Jack Russell Dog in Acrylics

Portrait Information

This is a painting of a jack russell called 'Hank'. His portrait was commissioned as a birthday present in May 2019 for his owner. The client wanted a special gift for her boyfriend and commissioned this paintin gof his pet dog. The painting is 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 inches) in size painted with acrylics on stretched canvas. I worked from a number of reference photographs, using one for Hank's body, one for his head and a separate on for the background. We decided to use a strong green background to offset the browns in Hank's fur. The client was delighted with the portrait. You can find more information on the commission on my blog here
