Springer Spaniel Pet Portrait in Acrylic
Dog Portrait Paintings in Acrylic
This is a pet portrait of a springer spaniel dog called Judy. The client commissioned this pet portrait as a gift for her partner. She wanted advice on what medium and size to pick so I have provided her with a few proofs taking into consideration both pencil and acrylic mediums. The client decided to go with an acrylic painting on stretched canvas as it showed Judy's slight brown colouring around her face and chest. The painting was 30 x 40cm in size and it was posted to the client on stretched canvas. The sides of the canvas were painted to match the simple shaded background which meant there was no need for framing.
Springer Spaniel Dog Painting in Acrylic with Detail
Below is a scan of the finished pet portrait painting showing a detailed image on the side. The detailed image shows the painting approximately in its actual size. The scans of paintings are matched to the original portrait so they can be reprinted as art prints or greeting cards. Client Photographs
The client has provided me with two photographs and I have created a few proofs for her to choose from. She has decided to pick the image of Judy standing in the garden as it shows her fully. Judy has such a gentle personality and I wanted to show that in the painting.
Pet Portraits in Progress
Below are some painting progress photographs that were taken during the pet portrait painting. I have posted these on the Art in Progress Blog and the client was able to check these instantly which meant she was aware of exactly how her pet portrait commission was coming along.
Pet Portrait Canvas Packaging
I have included some photographs of the pet portrait canvas while it was being packaged. I use corrugated board on both sides, a couple of layers of bubble wrap and a durable plastic envelope for safe delivery of all pet portraits.
"I've been looking at the progress on the blog and I am so impressed at how well you've captured Judy's likeness and personality...Judy's portrait was there waiting for me when I eventually got home late last night. It's a fabulous piece, I'm so pleased with it and I cannot wait now until August 21st when I get to give it to my partner....I've been meaning to email my thanks to you since my partner's birthday back in August. To say he was impressed with the portrait is putting it mildly, so thank you once again."
