Family Portraits in Acrylic on Canvas
This painting was commissioned in 2013 as a gift to the bride's 40th birthday from her husband. I worked from one reference photograph which was professionaly taken and so I had a lot of detail to work from. The painting was larger at 40 x 50cm - 16 x 20inches and was painted with acrylic on stretched canvas.

Below is a scan of the finished painting. I am also including a detailed image on the side which represents approximately the actual size of the painting. It was a pleasure to work on and I applied a lot of thin layers of paint on the canvas surface to ensure rich coverage and colours. I love the grain that is visible on canvas paintings, it really adds character. Finished Painting on Stretched Canvas
The reference photograph did not have to be adjusted in any way. To protect the privacy of my clients, I do not include client photos used for family portraits. The edges of the canvas were finished in a green colour to match the feel of the painting and this way the canvas can be hung without a frame or framed in a box or tray frame where edges are visible.
