My days have been so busy in the studio over the last three months. I have completed a number of commissions and prepared a series of six drawings for a group exhibition at the Kilkenny Arts Festival. I am exhibiting with Carysfort Gallery there.
I am going to try and catch up posting all of my recent commissions here over the next few days. There is a range of work from small sized family drawings to a large seascape painting.
This father and daughter drawing was completed back in May this year as a present for the girl in the photo. It is a part of a wedding gift, to be put in the front of a family album. The client, her father, was happy with the result:

The drawing is 20 x 20 cm in size and drawn with graphite pencils on Fabriano paper. I sprayed the finished drawing with a fixative to prevent from smudging. The drawing was then mounted in a neutral coloured mount. I took some photos of the mounted drawing which are below. I worked from one very good reference photo, which makes all the difference for a portrait.
