I was commissioned to create a pencil portrait of Niall Moran, the Irish hurler who played for Limerick, by a client a few months ago. The client really enjoyed the coloured pencil drawing I completed of Donal Og a while ago. She wanted to have a drawing of the same effect for her portrait of Niall which was given to him as a gift. The drawing is drawn with Polychromos coloured pencils on Fabriano paper at 40 x 30 cm.
Once the drawing was finished, I emailed a scanned image to the client. She was very pleased with the result:

I posted the drawing mounted in a mount ready to be fitted into a ready- or custom-made frame. I worked from one reference photograph which I adjusted by removing an opposing player holding onto Niall’s leg.
