These are two portrait drawings I worked on a few weeks ago in May 2023. I was commissioned by the little boy’s father to create these portraits for his wife’s birthday. He wanted me to capture two very special moments, each capturing the baby boy with his lovely grandmothers, one including his mammy too. What a lovely way to celebrate the boy’s mother’s birthday.
The client was very happy with the drawings and felt I captured his son’s special moments as he imagined them. I worked with graphite pencil on paper. Both drawings are 40 x 40 cm in size. They are not too small and will have good impact when hanging on the wall, especially beside each other.
I took some photographs of the finished portraits, but also some of the progress which I am including in this post.
Both drawings were mounted in neutral coloured mounts before postage. I use Anpost for posting portraits across Ireland and they are very reliable. I tend to use registered post to make sure I know my work was received.
I am working away on a lot of portraits at present, right now finishing off a painting of Tom Parlon who is soon retiring from his position as the head of Construction Industry Federation. I will be posting on that soon. In the meantime, if you have any queries on commissioning your own portrait, contact me at info@trueimage.ie. I can work from on or multiple photos and I can adjust them based on your requirements.
