I finished this portrait last weekend. It is of a lovely chocolate labrador called Bobby. The painting was 30 x 40 cm in size and it was painted with acrylics on canvas, as usual. I used two reference photographs, one for Bobby’s pose and one for the background. The background features a field where Bobby is usually taken for a walk, and I thought it would make the painting a little more special for Bobby’s owner. It was a very enjoyable painting to work on for me since I have a chocolate labrador at home, looking at me as I write right now. It was handy for capturing the true colour of his coat 🙂
