This is the latest painting to come off my easel. It is of lovely Georgie who sadly passed away earlier this year. This is a Christmas present for her owner. It was commissioned by her brother and I really enjoyed working on it. It is smaller in size at 20 x 30 cm painted with acrylics on stretched canvas.
I worked from two reference photos which were both great. Georgie’s body was worked loosely to bring the focus onto her face. I removed the red eye from the photo.
The client was very happy with the painting and sent me a lovely email when he received the scan by email and when the painting arrived in the post:
Hi Ivana, All I can say is oh my god. It is absolutely beautiful… I am so so impressed… you have captured George’s image with such empathy and soul…. I’m literally blown away. Since I first contacted you my sister has gotten a new dog but nothing, and I mean nothing, will ever replace Georgie. I can’t wait to give this to her a Christmas and see her reaction…The painting arrived…. It’s beautiful… I know my sister will love it.
