I finished working on Eddie’s portrait just yesterday and I scanned it today. It worked out very well I think. Eddie is just beautiful in the reference photo and I really wanted to capture his expression in the painting. I worked most of the detail into the head and shoulders, leaving the background and bottom part of the painting a little out of focus. It gives the painting a little more depth.
I worked with artists quality acrylic paints – burnt umber, venetian red, yellow ochre, burnt umber, titanium white and cadmium red.
