Below are next couple of stages of the rottweiler dog portrait I have been working on over the last few days. Robin’s portrait is coming on really well and I am now refining the painting with every new stage. I have put down the basic sketch first, then added a couple of black and brown washes together with the background. I think the blues in the background work really well with Robin’s colours, they really make her stand out in the portrait. In the next stages, I will be working on the detail together with refining the overall tone of the painting.
