Art Studio Updates

I work from my studio in Kilcock. It is a small room with shelves all around to put my finished and unfinished work onto. I like to give each work a few days to 'rest' before I completely finalise them and email my clients their portrait scans. On this page, you will find more information on how I work together with some progress photos and videos of my process. I discuss the materials I use and how I go about completing each piece of work. Because I work from photographs, I like to share them here too for comparison. You can subscribe to the blog and receive updates 3 to 4 times a month.

Dachshund Portrait

This is my latest portrait of two lovely dachshunds. It was commissioned by a returning client from Ireland as a gift for her friend’s birthday. It is a small 6 x 8 inch drawing in graphite pencils. The small size makes the portrait really unique I think. I am now…

King Charles Dog Portrait

Today, I have finished working on Holly’s portrait. I think it worked out quite well, hopefully the client will like it too 🙂 Holly is a beautiful King Charles and her portrait is drawn with pencils on paper. It is 8 x 12 inches in size. Next up is a…

I have finished working on the latest portrait today. It is of Zeus, the lovely german shepherd that I have been working on for the last few days. It is 25 x 35 cm in size painted on stretched canvas. I just love his majestic pose and I wanted to…

Yorkshire Terrier Portrait

I have now finished working on Max’s portrait. It was really enjoyable, as Max the yorkshire terrier is so cute in the reference photograph. I just love the way he is running towards the camera all happy and bouncy. I have detailed his fur based on other reference photograph I…

Basset Hounds Portrait

This is the final scan of the finished drawing of Jasmine and Daisy – the very cute basset hounds. I really enjoyed working on their dog portrait. Their eyes are so expressive and their expressions so individualistic. You can really tell their personality just by looking at them. The client…

Boxer in landscape

I have finished working on George’s portrait today. I wanted to make sure it really works and all colours are harmonizing together, so I took an extra day for finishing touches. I hope you like it. I think it worked out quite well. Below is a scan of the finished…
