I work from my studio in Kilcock. It is a small room with shelves all around to put my finished and unfinished work onto. I like to give each work a few days to 'rest' before I completely finalise them and email my clients their portrait scans. On this page, you will find more information on how I work together with some progress photos and videos of my process. I discuss the materials I use and how I go about completing each piece of work. Because I work from photographs, I like to share them here too for comparison. You can subscribe to the blog and receive updates 3 to 4 times a month.
First of all, let me wish you all a very Happy New Year 2026. I hope it is a good one with lots of love, happiness and joy. I also want to thank all of my subscribers and followers for their continued support over the years. It gives my work…

I was contacted by two sisters from Scotland in August this year. They were enquiring about commissioning a very specific portrait of their three shetland sheepdogs. This painting is one of many landscape paintings I worked on to date. It is painted from a photograph taken from the Killarney Lake Hotel overlooking the Killarney Lakes. This is a drawing of Nora, which was commissioned by Emma a few months ago. My client, Emma, emailed me a couple of photos of this lovely lady. She chose the photograph below which pictures Nora in a lovely way, smiling at the camera. I wanted to capture the kindness…
I painted a portrait of PJ and his cattle a couple of months ago just before the summer. His portrait was a commission from his daughter-in-law. This was a birthday gift for PJ’s son, my client’s husband. Jayme, my client, wanted to give her husband a special surprise. The photo…
In June this year I was busy painting a portrait of Emily with her pet dog Lilly. You can see the connection they share in the image. I wanted to translate this onto canvas for her. Lilly sadly passed away recently after many happy years she shared with her owner…
I drew this pencil sketch based on a photograph taken in a hospital. The two hands holding are those of a mother and daughter. My client, the daughter’s friend, commissioned this drawing after her friend’s mother passed. It was a special image gifted to my client’s friend: Hi Ivana! Thanks…
