I work from my studio in Kilcock. It is a small room with shelves all around to put my finished and unfinished work onto. I like to give each work a few days to 'rest' before I completely finalise them and email my clients their portrait scans. On this page, you will find more information on how I work together with some progress photos and videos of my process. I discuss the materials I use and how I go about completing each piece of work. Because I work from photographs, I like to share them here too for comparison. You can subscribe to the blog and receive updates 3 to 4 times a month.

I painted this lovely English springer spaniel dog a few months ago for his family. Goose sadly passed away last year and his owners miss him terribly. He looks so happy in his local park, in his element as the owner says. Goose was part of the family for a…

I was commissioned by the Managing Director of Hachette Ireland, the publishing company, to create a still life painting for one of his colleagues who retired earlier this year. Jim was in touch with me before and I created two other portraits for him in the past, one of his…
This painting was commissioned by one of the dogs’ owners for his wife’s birthday. The two pets are members of the family and very much loved by their owners. My client, Jim, commissioned a painting of his friend last year and another painting of a bookshelf filled with books this…
Over the last few years I worked on a few equine portraits. I have worked with many clients and created both paintings and drawings of their horses and ponies. Since I have a few of these under my belt, I decided they needed a page of their own. The page…

I was commissioned by Aidan’s daughter Orlaith to create this portrait for her dad’s birthday celebration. The painting is painted with acrylics…
