Happy New Year to you all! I have had such a busy time before Christmas I didn’t have a spare minute to post on the blog. Overall, 2019 was a busy year with commissions. I created 59 artworks for 56 clients and sold some personal work to clients in New Jersey, USA and Drogheda in county Meath, Ireland.
I will aim to catch up with the blog and post all the pre-Christmas commissions I completed. There was quite a variety of both family and pet portraits in the form of drawings and paintings.
I shall start with a lovely coloured pencil drawing of two children looking out the window waiting for their grandmother to visit. This was a Christmas gift for the grandmother. It was commissioned by a return client in Ireland. This is the third drawing I completed for him. The coloured pencils suited this image quite well and the client wanted me to include the words “Waiting on Nana” in the portrait.
The drawing is 30 x 25 cm in size. I worked with coloured pencil to achieve a softly coloured drawing.
I didn’t have any changes to make to the original photo besides some cropping. I softened the shadows a little as it was quite dark. The finished drawing was mounted in a mount ready for posting. I insert all mounted drawings into a colourless plastic slieve to ensure they arrive safely. The look great this way and can be gifted straight away.
The client was delighted with the drawing:
Hi Ivana! It looks great, as I expected!… She will love it!
