This is a new pencil portrait I’ve been working on. It is of a very cute labrador puppy. The pet portrait is in graphite pencil on 160g cartridge paper and it is an A4 size (8″ x 12″). I’m using my usual mix of graphite HB and 4B pencils. I hope to finish it in a couple of days and I will keep on posting the progress images as I’m working. Below are first two steps. I decided to draw a very dark background so that the sunlit fur shows off pretty well.
