With Valentine’s Day approaching, I thought this portrait is very fitting for this time of the year. It was commissioned as a Christmas present from the young man in the picture to his girlfriend. He wanted to capture a moment in their past that was very special to both of them.
The drawing is 25 x 30 cm in size. I worked in graphite pencils on heavy duty Fabriano paper. I simplified the reference photo and removed the wrist tags, glasses and the phone. The background was removed too to create a simple drawing of the couple. They were both very happy with the finished drawing:
