These two small drawings were commissioned as a Christmas present to the couples in the photos. I was contacted by their children who are now married and wanted a portrait for their parents of their special moment. They happened to have very similar photographs of their parents at their wedding day cutting their wedding cakes. It was such a lovely idea I thought.
The drawings are just 20 x 15 cm in size, the smallest size I work in. The photos being quite old did not offer a huge amount of detail, but offered some very interesting shapes and shadows.

As I always do, I sprayed the finished drawings with a fixative before mounting them in mounts. I use neutral coloured single bevelled cut mounts. These are ready to be inserted into frames. Most of my sizes are standard sized and will fit into shop bought frames, or can be framed in custom made frames.
