Horse Painting in Progress

I have progressed on the horse painting this week. Having put down a blue-grey wash first after the sketching stage, I then started detailing sections of the muzzle and head overall. I am using a lovely mixture of burnt sienna, titanium white and a little cobalt blue. The burnt sienna gives the mix a nice warmth and I will work on the sunny parts in more detail when the whole portrait is more less finished. I want the painting to feel warm as it was very warm when I took the photo. Below are some photographs I took of the painting in progress. There is lots more to do and I am hoping to finish it at some point next week.
