Springer Spaniel Portrait in Progress

This is Baxter. I have worked on his portrait all day today and I am progressing really well. I should be finished tomorrow evening. The size of the portrait is 30 x 30cm and I will put it in a mount when it is finished. The first step was to sketch the portrait on paper and in the second stage, I have started working on shading and refining the portrait. Baxter is a real character and the client wanted to show that in this portrait, hence the tennis ball in his mouth. The photograph was taken on the beach while Baxter was playing with his owners. The portrait will be a birthday present.
