This is Max, the cutest yorkshire terrier and I am now working on his portrait. The painting is in acrylic on stretched canvas and is quite large in size at 24 x 20 inches (50 x 60 cm). Max has sadly passed away and this portrait is going to be a Christmas present for one of his owners, whose silhouette will feature in the background. The setting for the portrait includes a beach where Max loved to run around with his owners.
So far I have started on an initial sketch of the painting and I am planning on finishing it next week. There is a lot to do, but I have the basis for the portrait down. In the next stages, I will start adding colours, first as thin washes and build on each wash with more colour. This way I am hoping to achieve a full and realistic painting.
