Chihuahua Portrait Painting

I have finished working on Marley’s portrait yesterday, but decided to keep it on the shelf for a day to make sure it was working. I scanned it now and I think it worked out quite well. The darkness of the blanket really plays off the white in Marley’s fur. He is so cute looking up at the viewer. I think the client did really well taking this picture. I hope she likes the painting too. It is 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25cm) in size and is going to be given to Marley’s owner as a birthday present. I hope she likes it. I used acrylic paints on fine stretched canvas. I worked in a lot of layers of paint and I used raw umber, ultramarine, burnt umber, venetian red, yellow ochre and titanium white.
