This is a portrait of two beagles I worked on a couple of weeks ago. It was a wedding present for their owners. A few of their friends have commissioned this to go with their wedding gift. The reference photo was taken indoors, so it was quite dark. The clients wanted a landscape background, so I sourced one from my own photos. The beagles were sitting in their bed, so I had to intergrate the grass around their paws naturally. The portrait is square in shape, 12 x 12 inches (30 x 30 cm) in size. I worked with graphite pencils on paper and at the end I mounted the drawing in a neutral coloured mount. I was delighted to hear from the clients, that the bride and groom really loved the portrait.
