I work from my studio in Kilcock. It is a small room with shelves all around to put my finished and unfinished work onto. I like to give each work a few days to 'rest' before I completely finalise them and email my clients their portrait scans. On this page, you will find more information on how I work together with some progress photos and videos of my process. I discuss the materials I use and how I go about completing each piece of work. Because I work from photographs, I like to share them here too for comparison. You can subscribe to the blog and receive updates 3 to 4 times a month.
This is a painting that was commissioned as a birthday present for the little girl’s mother. It was commissioned by her husband and features a special moment Isabella shares with her grandfather, who sadly passed away. The landscape is one where the client’s wife grew up. I worked with acrylics…
I worked on Killian’s portrait last year. It was commissioned as a present from his fiancee. He just loves his dogs, one of whom passed away last year. My client Lauren wanted me to capture all three dogs with Killian in one photo. She didn’t have a reference of all…
I painted Tyson, the beautiful rottweiler dog last autumn. It was commissioned as a gift for the client’s friend. Tyson sadly passed away before I painted her, unusual name for a female dog. She looked so beautiful and regal in her photo, it was such a pleasure to paint her…

This is a project I worked on in September last year. The client was someone gifted with a drawing of her own pet from her sister last year. She loved it so much that she decided to commission drawings of her sister’s dogs Finn and Luna. Finn is the happy…

This drawing is one of the pet portraits I worked on last year and just never got a chance to put up on the blog. I completed it in June 2020. It is of Daisy the beagle and Elsa the doberman. Both dogs are deceased and Elaine, my client, wanted…
This is the first commission I worked on in 2021 and it was very enjoyable. There is something about old photographs that I just love interpreting on paper. Graphite works so well to translate old photographs to an artwork. This one is of a man looking over his shoulder. The…
This pencil drawing is of a father and son at the son’s graduation. It was drawn based on one reference photograph and was commissioned as a 30th birthday gift. It was commissioned by the young man’s girlfriend. She wanted to give him something special for his big birthday. The drawing…
