Welcome to the Gallery of Portraits of People with their Pets in Pencil and Acrylic!
We love our pets. They are a part of our family and having a portrait of them in our home makes for a very unique keepsake and memory whether they are still with us or have sadly passed. A pet and owner portrait makes for the perfect gift for pet owners. I have completed a lot of these over the years, both in pencil as drawings and in acrylic as paintings. This gallery shows examples of some of my previous pet and owner portrait commissions. Some have been gifted, some have been commissioned by the owners. I have worked from single or multiple photographs, having combined them together into one composition.
The portraits on this gallery page are drawn with graphite pencil on paper or painted with acrylics on fine stretched canvas.
I work with professional quality acrylic paints by Winsor & Newton and Old Holland on fine grain stretched canvas made in Italy by Belle Arti. All the pencil drawings are drawn with Mars Lumograph Black graphite pencils by Staedtler and Graphite Pitt Matt by Faber-Castell on quality Fabriano paper.
