Welcome to the Gallery of People and Family Portrait Paintings in Acrylics!
The paintings on this gallery page are painted with acrylics on fine stretched canvas. I work with professional quality acrylic paints by Winsor Newton and Old Holland on quality fine grain stretched canvas made in Italy by Belle Arti.
The gallery shows examples of some of my previous family portrait commissions. I create portraits of children, family portraits, wedding portraits, children and parent portraits, sports portraits to name a few. I painted some well known personalities too, including Charlie Bird, Tom Parlon, Donal Og Cusack and Niall Moran.
I often work from more than one reference photo, especially for group family portraits. I always prepare a portrait proof / mock up for clients, which shows the composition of a portrait and gives the client an idea of how a portrait might work.
I can work from a recent photograph or from a vintage photograph.
